Match Report - Lex XI Reserves
Reserve team 2 - 1 Lex XI Reserves. Horace Wynne Cup Second Round 20/02/10
Corwen progressed to the Quarterfinals of the Horace Wynne Cup after coming from a goal behind to defeat Reserves division side Lex XI 2-1.
The visitors opened the scoring early in the game with a long range free kick, which went in at the top corner of the net, but Corwen equalised shortly afterwards from the penalty spot.
The hosts took the lead before half time, after Scott Evans finished off a great move by chipping the ball over the Lex goalkeeper.
The remainder of the game was fairly even, and the visitors thought that they had equalised late on, however referee Paul Roberts disallowed the goal as he deemed that the scorer was in an offside position when he scored.
