Managed by Simon Harrison this year the Corwen Reserve team have an exciting young squad of players and with the help of a few more experienced players they are looking to have a competitive season in the Welsh National Reserves & Colts Division.

Towards the end of last season things were looking good with some brilliant performances against the top sides I am looking forward for season 2009-2010.
With the first team’s new management team of John James and Andy Lewis with Crufts like pedigree, Rich Crimp taking the assistants job with myself, and the new signings who have come in, it’s going to be a very exciting season ahead. I’ve got high hopes of a top three finish. We have won 5 out of the 6 preseason games, and scored 19 gaols, with only 6 conceded. In my eyes it has been fantastic. Keep it up boys.
Credit to John and Andy for preseason training. The kids are looking in good shape.

Fantastic shot stopper, had a good season last year. He has a great attitude, and learning from every game, and he takes some beating.
Been at the club for decades. All heart defender, who has won the Welsh National League Premier division with Corwen. He has played at a high standard, and will never let you down. He will play a big role this season with all of the young lads.
The William Wallace (Brave hart) of players. A rock solid player, who is hard in tackles, has good pace and an eye for goal.
Small gutsy solid defender, who likes to get forward. Looking good at Left back.
Looked good over preseason at centre back for such a young age. Very calm on the ball, lives to play it out.
Made captain for this season. Has played in the first team, and will be a big asst for the team. No nonsense centre back who will drive the team forward.
Paul will feature in both the first team and the reserves this season. Played all his games for the 1st team, but will be helping the reserves out at times this season. He wears the shirt with heart, a great defender with a very powerful strike.
Played for Corwen at a young age, and has returned this season. Glad to have him back, a great Right back who likes going forward.
My boss John James’s son, and is getting stronger every game. Very skilful player, and has pace and quick feet. He will play a massive part in midfield, and also plays in goal, don’t you Jamo.
Tall centre midfielder. He is the heart of the engine room, and has good feet, and a range of passing. We will need him to be fit all season.
It is hard to believe that Scott is only sixteen. He plays the game with was, and hardly puts a foot wrong. He has great awareness, watch out for him in higher leagues to come.
Only started league football last season, and he already has the wow factor. Very powerful player, with great skill and blistering pace. He has already scored some brilliant solo goals this season.
He has come on beyond belief playing preseason in the forward position. Scored 3 in 4 games, and is another very quick player, with great skill, and has already proven that he has an eye for gaol with some great finishing.
In my opinion he is one of Corwen’s best ever players. He is a local lad, and has played at a high standard, and can play anywhere, but I have pushed him up front for the coming season. He will play a big part with helping the young lads, and he will also make the team tick, as most creative things go through Mark.
Signed last season from Ruthin. He has fitted in well in midfield, and can also play forward. He has a great engine and good skill.
Had a great 2008/9 season, and has also looked good in preseason, scoring 6 gaols in 4 games. He is another player with good pace and skill, and I have got high hope for him.
He has been an unsung hero for Corwen for years. I have played with Wayne for many years. He is very fit midfiled player up/down. A great passer of the ball, and has taken on the trainers job, great to have him on board.
I played at Centre mid for most of last season, but I don’t think that I will be required as much this season. From a neutral point of view (written by Captain Doug McDonald): Simon has been with Corwen for years as a player and manager. Confident with the ball and is a dead ball specialist? P.S. You wait Douglas.
Yet again another youth player that has just turned 16. He will also come on this season, and has a great attitude.
He still not ready after breaking his leg at the end of last season. A well-known goal scorer, who has played for the first team. Great skill and pace. He is a constant 20 goal a season man, and will push for his place when fit.
Rich Crimp’s son is a Corwen Youth player, and is currently having trials at Bala Town’s Youth academy, best of luck. He is doing a great job for us with the kit and water bottles.
As you can see we have assembled a big squad. When the season starts properly we will get some players down from the first team when everyone is available. So as I’ve said we can’t win the league with 14 players, so bare with it lads, and take your chance when you get it, and keep up the good work, and good luck for the season to everyone. It’s going to be a tough job for myself and Rich to chose with so many of you so close in playing ability.
Thanks to everyone from myself, Rich and Wayne.
